About
Us

Welcome to Lake City Church of God By Faith, where we strive to bring forth the word of God in season and out of season. Our mission is to spread the good news of the gospel and help people connect and grow with God. We look forward to you joining us for our services.

Our  History

The Lake City Church of God by Faith was founded in 1997 by Elder Jackie Reynolds. In November of 1998, Elder Joseph Dix became pastor until his retirement in 2021. Since Elder Dix's retirement, Superintendent Duane Gainey has been pastor.

Under the leadership of Elder Dix, Lake City COGBF bought 3 acres of land with the vision to build a building for the ministry.

Our mission is to teach, train, and equip followers of Christ and future leaders of the kingdom of God. We teach the word of God to be learned and understood, but more importantly, to be applied in every person's life. We strive to reach everyone not matter the current state they are in. Whether lost, backslidden, non-believer, or believer, we aim to reach you wherever you are.

Our Mission

Our Vision

Our vision is to be effective in ministry reaching all people no matter cultural background, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. We strive for the word of God to be effective in those lives in whom we encounter. We envision the ministry to reach impact the community by serving the people in our great community. Teaching knowledge and biblical principles of the Word of God. Teach TRUTH, building the people to be applicators of the Word and not just hearers of the Word. Hosea 4:6; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; John 17:17; James 1:22-25

"A visionless life is a poverty-stricken existence."

What We Believe

What we believe is rooted and grounded in the Word of God. Our beliefs are founded in the Holy Scriptures. The foundation of all of our teachings is based on biblical principles.

Core Beliefs

God, First in the God-Head

We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, Sovereign of the universe that He only is God, creative and administrative, Holy in nature, attributes and purpose, that He, as God is first in the God Head, an essential being, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, the second Person of the God-Head; that He was eternally one with the Father; that He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary, so that two whole and perfect natures, that is to say the Go Head and manhood are this united in one person very God and very man, the God-Man. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that He truly arose from the dead and took again His body, together with all things appertaining to the perfection of man's nature, wherewith He ascended into Heaven and is there engaged in intercession for us.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the God-Head. He (the Holy Spirit) is ever present and efficiently active in and with the Church of Christ, convincing the world of sin, regenerating those who repent and believe, sanctifying believers, and guiding into all truth as it is in Jesus.

Holy Scriptures

We believe in the plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, by that which we understand the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments given by Divine inspiration, in errantly revealing the Will of God concerning us in all things necessary to our salvation, so that whatever is not contained therei9n is not to be enjoined as an article of faith.

Repentance

We believe that repentance, which is a sincere and thorough change of mind, in regards to sin, involving a sense of personal guilt and voluntary turning away from sin, is demanded of all who have by act or purpose become sinners against God. The spirit of God gives to all who will repent the gracious help of penitence of heart and hope of mercy that they may believe unto pardon and spiritual life.

Baptism

We believe in the Believer’s Baptism by immersion as an outward symbol and commitment of dying to the old life and being resurrected with a new life that is in Christ Jesus.

Communion

We observe the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ's instructions, with the understanding that the elements are not literal, but representative of His given body and shed blood.
